2. I took it 40 years ago, so I don't know whether my information is still useful.

And I was also kind of addled because I was coming down with Hong Kong flu at the time. I do remember that there were a lot of questions that had you analyze a paragraph or two and answer questions about them; some of those X is to Y as A is to B questions, and some math. Strangely, I did quite well, possibly because I was so sick I didn't care.

3. Uh, uh, Seriously. NO.
Okay. STOP. Right now. You need time to regroup.

You're in a very precarious period in your life, sweetheart. You need to focus on you and that chicken parmesan making hubby of yours.

Please, please. Don't put yourself in this position right now, sweetie.

4. I'm bored!
I'm not taking it anytime soon, but I DO need something to occupy my downtime. I'm fine, trust me. :)

7. Oh hell no!
I'll probably take it once this summer, just to try it out, see where I feel like I'm at, and not report score. And then I'll get more serious, and study, and take it for real. I'm sure I'll do fine, just need to brush up on a few things. No worries. :)

8. it's how I celebrated my 23rd birthday
and I don't recommend it.

1) the school where I took it was flooded due to massive rains in SF
2) they assigned me to a room that was full
3) i was kicked out of the full room and not told where to go
4) they sent me to another room and i got the last seat (next to a broken window --it was December mind you) and I had trouble bubbling in the circles because i was shivering due to the cold
5) my first section, Analytical, was the worst, then i settled in

the overall experience was absolutely sucky, unlike the SAT and ACT which a few years prior, I took with no issues or complaints.

i left the building in silence that day, as did everyone else. i said to myself, i'm not EVER taking that crap again and if some school doesn't want me because of it, then i'll go somewhere else.

though my grad school did require the test, they simply had a threshold you had to cross for admission and beyond that they didn't use it for admission decisions.

9. Buy the study books, take the practice tests, do the remediation.
And the math counts, but you will have just a few of each type of problem. Scan the internets for hints. It is very doable. Hell, grad programs NEED you.

I have one book, I need a few more. I'm registered with Kaplan online. I need to brush up on my geometry. :)

And awww, thanks. :)
