Completely out of character...I entered my baby in a contest.
:7 I don't know what compelled me to do it.

I realized, while looking for pictures to post, that i do not take enough. Most all of our pictures are taken by his older sisters. And while i value these more than anything, it is now evident to me that we only have about 7 clear shots in the bunch. I am pulling out the camera this week. My baby boy is growing up too fast and i need to preserve some of his babyness.

How is the smilin' girl? She gets more darling with time.

We are enjoying the Hell out of the nice weather. He has been helping me in the garden. I hand him the weeds i pull out and he throws them down. :) He also has been really into the cats lately. He meows while he pets them.

3. What a darling, happy face!
I took a bunch of pictures of my one and only son, now 14, but I regret not writing down the cute things he said. When I was a teenager I babysat for a family who had a notebook with funny things written in it that their three kids had said. I read it out loud to them and we all laughed. I vowed to do the same if I ever had kids, but .... The thread about funny things kid say reminded me of it.

4. It is a wonderful idea to keep a little journal.
Edited on Fri May-29-09 12:20 PM by FedUpWithIt All
I wish i would have thought to set aside a specific journal for all the funny and clever things my kids have done. I have a terrible habit of "jotting things down" before promptly misplacing them.:-(

So, 14. Are you getting any of the teen insanity? :) It never seems to end here. :hi:

9. He's going on his first "date" with two other boys and four girls...
I like the fact that they aren't forming couples yet! His best friend since kindergarten invited some friends (I think they're all band members) to see Pixar's new movie, "UP", to celebrate his birthday.
There is much eighth-grade-graduating-good-bye jr. high stuff happening in these last days of school. :)
I do the same "jotting things down"- my cousin had a fat, small realtor's listing binder with alphabetic dividers with pockets. She kept all kinds of notes and info in it, and said if she lost it it would be like losing her brain!

13. Thanks, fizzgig.
He tries to hold back smiles now. It is quite funny. He sort of purses his lips when he thinks something is funny, like he expects us to work harder before he will give us a laugh or smile.

He is really pleasant kid. Always jolly. :)

14. Thank you, suninvited.

I love him lots.

I usually will pass over things like photo entries. Contests and babies grouped together kinda feels contrary to me as a rule. Babies are ALL wonderful.

Honestly, it was quite spontaneous on my part. I was reading parents and saw a bunch of babies and added mine to the group. :-)

8. Years from now he'll want to see your face, too.
Sometimes there aren't enough pictures of the parents, too. He's a cutie! :)

16. You know, that is so true. You don't think about it.
I need to try and get into more shots.

It is so fun seeing younger pictures of the older people in your life.

10. An old photography instructor of mine called a camera a time machine.
It's really true.

17. It really is that.
It is odd for me know that we have a digital camera. I forget to pull it out more. I cannot figure out why.

Welcome to DU.
