You know that traffic light Mr Rogers had in his living room?
Do you think he stole that from a small town intersection late one night? Is that why a whole generation of teenagers used to have big stop signs in their bedrooms? Seriously, just how much did that man corrupt two generations of American kids?

1. He also talked to an electric trolley
I think he had issues.

Seriously, Fred Rogers was one of the most wonderful people to ever live.

6. Generation of narcisists
High self esteem is ruining this country. Our grandparents were self loathing neurotics who couldn't ever tell the difference between male & female hippies... and they beat the Nazis and the Depression.

4. The only teenagers who had stolen signs in their rooms were on TV
I lived in a mostly rural area (where stealing signs was easy to do), and I knew maybe one person who had a stolen street sign in their room.

Danny Partridge may have had one, but nobody I knew ever did.

11. Somewhere, out there on the intertubes, there's some Lady Elaine Fairchild/Fred Rogers slash fiction
Subgenres: "Puppet references" and "No puppet references"

12. I don't know, but I always wanted it.
Something about having a traffic light of your very own intrigued me as a kid. Don't ask me why, because I won't be able to tell you why.
