Here are a few anti-scorpion tips that worked for me!

We live in Oklahoma, and I used to find scorpions in our dining room. With children in the house, that did scare me a lot! You can buy some stuff at Lowe's (or Home Depot, etc.) that you can put on the lawn (just like fertilizer), that will kill all kinds of critters like big bugs, spiders, and scorpions. I also let an exterminator spray the foundation of our house once a year in April (costs $80, well worth it!). I know, I know, this is probably not the greenest approach, but I really don't want scorpions and venomous spiders like black widows or brown recluses in my house, sorry! By the way, it also helps if you keep the lawn low, and trim regularly.
In addition, we have put new door sweeps under all doors this spring, mostly to reduce drafts (and lower energy bills), but I noticed that we have much less critters now in the house, so it helped with that, too. No more scorpions since we have been doing all of this (knocking on wood here!).
