My immediate supervisor. I just had my eval. However, no raise. No raise for any of us. Our company filed for bankruptcy a few months back.

I got my raise and bonus BEFORE I actually talked to my supervisor about my review...I just found a surprise in my check. I did get a very quick review eventually with my immediate supervisor. We do that computer based self evaluation stuff....

30. My fucking "raise" is
a sick pathetic Joke. Trust me on this. The evaluation was a goddamn travesty. I do not know your circumstances and I am not commenting on your situation. I am saying what happened to me yesterday was beyond STUPID.

I thought you were self employed and I am sure you have problems of your own. My point is that I feel like bitching and I came to the Lounge to do it.

I am not in the mood to be reasonable right now. I am in the mood to bitch. n'cest pas?

40. Yuppers. Every employee in every department was subject to these quarterly reviews.
It was really stressed to even supervisory level people the supposed importance of doing this. The home office was/still is big on this. And as hq tightened their purse strings to boot what once was a nice place to work became a not so nice place to be.

28. It has varied from year to year
one year I didn't get a face to face evaluation with my manager, just my raise in my paycheck. Other years there have been as many as 3 others, two direct report managers and the department's personnel manager. This year it will probably be 2 - my direct report manager and my manager above him. Our process is slow and cumbersome. First you put in your objectives for the year, which have to be approved by both managers (this is done at the end of the year, presumably so that you can say you met your objectives). Next you do a self-evaluation on-line. Then you suggest 12 or so people to your manager for feedback. He or she picks as many as 10 and asks them to provide feedback on you.. Everything is collected and the managers review the findings and make suggestions for your rating (a number from 2 to 5, with 3.2 and 3.3 being the most often given and 3.2 meaning entirely satisfactory). Then the department's management committee meets and reviews all 150 or so members of the department and suggest a rating for each one, generally the one suggested by your managers. Finally, the departmental vice president makes the final decision on the rating. Your rating determines your raise percentage. 2s generally do not get a raise or at best, a 1% raise. The other raise percentages are based on what our board has determined are the raise percentage parameters, generally from 2 to 4 or 5%. In addition to the raise parameters determined by the board, there are other factors determining your raise percentage, such as your grade, your rating and your current salary. We use a system called 'broad banding' that takes into account your rating, your grade and current salary to fix an upper and lower limit for raises for everyone falling into that band. Our departmental VP determines our raise on the basis of the rating and the broad banding area you fall into.

Sometimes just 3 people,
sometimes 60 people.

Sales SUCKS.

Especially in Michigan,
in the here and now.

31. My last review had two people
my immediate supervisor and the director. They sang my praises and said my only short coming was that I was too intense and I intimidate my coworkers. Although I still haven't figured out how that is a bad thing.

35. one - my boss
and no raise in 2 years. I work for the UC system and, as we all well know, California is broke. Basically I've had a 75 cent raise in four years and we aren't getting anything this year eiher. Oh - the CEO and the other big wigs did get their huge bonuses though. Isn't that nice for them?

I guess I shouldn't really complain. At least I have a job!

38. Five were there the first attempt
I was too busy getting things done to stop for them.

After that I got worried because noone ever mentioned an evaluation.

Next work day there were two and I had already planned what to say if fired.

I was rather surprised to find it was just an evaluation. I wish someone would have told me :P

Evidently, I'm doing real good.
