I just gave Comcast a pink slip

And I couldn't be happier. For the year or so I've been on this coast, Comcast has been my only choice for cable and internet. Flat out, it is the worst service I've had for either utility. The internet isn't bad, in itself. But I lose connection at least once a month. Sometimes, for nearly a week. The television service was bundled with the internet. Though I don't really care for tv, they only gave me 5 HD channels and still managed to charge me 135 bucks a month and act like I'm getting some sort of deal. Yeah, well I got your deal right here, Comcast fuckers!

Any time I've ever called up to complain about the horrible internet connection or how I don't think the service is of the same value of what I pay, all the cockfists on the other side of the line say is, oh we're sorry. And it ends there. I have threatened to leave at least 10 times but they knew they were the only game in town.

Well guess what? Not anymore! Verizon Fios is here and it might as well get up in the morning and cook me breakfast, it's so fucking awesome. I have like 80 HD channels. Lots of em are science and documentary based too. Woohoo. Now I have even more reason to not watch American Idol. And my internet? Get out of here. I stole a whole album using bittorrent last night and it took me 2 minutes blazing away at 800 kbs. And no need for any of that bullshit proprietary software they try to peddle on you. Not that I've ever used it. But still, it's awesome that the install guy was like, here's the WEP key - go crazy.

Verizon was giving $50 in credit if your friends/family that switched mentioned that you recommend they do so when we did it last year.

I finally unloaded them a few months ago and couldn't be any happier (I went total comcast). Their phone support sucks - you'll be lucky if you get someone from the states and they rarely kept the appointments they'd schedule for you. They'd stop by the day before and since you weren't home they'd just look at the outside box and close the ticket. D'uh, the reason I scheduled the appointment was so that I would be there and you could come in my house (like you said was needed when you talked to me over the phone).

I have comcast and couldn't be any happier!
