Words that have no rhymes: MONTH.
I've been spending some weeks alone
composing an epic poem
and been stymied by the need for a rhyme with "month"...

So in a bit of revisionist twist,
I gave a minor character a LISP;
and I think I may have pulled it off this oneth.

6. So, you've seen my epic poem dealing with ShortWave Radio, have you?
And the 15 pages in the middle where I drone on and on
about the the benefits of the "low range"?

And 'purple' has had a rhyme since 1958.
"Burple" is a real word now- Google it sometime.

13. IMHO, that's a stretch. Isn't there and Ogden Nash poem about this problem?
Edited on Mon May-25-09 10:13 PM by triguy46
"His passion, though, was rhyme. "I think in terms of rhyme," he said, "and have since I was six years old." (He once said that he almost fell in love with a woman named "Mrs. Blorange" because he was so fascinated with her name—orange being one of the few words in the language, along with silver and pilgrim—that has no standard words with which to rhyme.)"

14. Perhaps, but slurring and loud electric guitars go a long way in masking...
the sin of false rhymes.
It's a rockandroll song, not a sonnet :)

15. I've been 'very worried' for decades....
I'm "not quite right", you know...and I've got lots
of real official-looking paperwork to prove it.

Frickin signatures, stamps & seals and counter-signatures EVERYWHERE.

It is a pretty good rhyme though, isn't it?

23. The real clever part isn't the punchline...
Read it again: I made you think "twist" rhymes with "lisp".
It really DOESN'T, you know.

I'm much more proud of that than the "oneth" thing.
