Why are some cable stations bleeped and others not.
Sometimes a show that I know is not on broadcast (such as Daily)is bleeped even though you cannot have Comedy Central over the air (and I always thought it was the "airwaves" that were public that meant that they could be regulated).

I watch a lot of Logo, which is a "gay" oriented network. Usually they bleep but I recorded something a couple of nights ago and the language hadn't been cernsored at all.

Anybody know that short version of why this happens?

1. They make the decision as to whether they want to be 'family friendly' or not.
Each station gets to decide where they want to draw the line. They won't get fined by the FCC or anything, but if a station that shows kids shows suddenly shows something that would make parents get pissed off, they know they'll end up with a boycott or something like that. So they pick a set of standards and stick by them.
