Maybe their fanbase is a bit special and enjoys a lifetime of mediocrity.

8. I'm a Cowboys fan, and a Saints fan. I can relate to both.
I grew up around New Orleans and watched the Saints lose for 20 years, but never watched football much until I moved to Dallas. So the Cowboys are my team but the Saints are like home to me.

So if they ever meet in the playoffs, I'll have problems. So far I don't have much reason to fear that, though.

41. You're talking to someone from CLEVELAND about Philly's "sports woes"?
Edited on Thu May-21-09 05:53 PM by HughBeaumont
The Phillies won the World Series last year. This is the world's most microscopic tear being shed for their plight.

Maybe the Eagles fans can cry me a river and tell it to someone who's NOT from a city that hasn't won a title in any sport since the year the Beatles rocked Ed Sullivan.

I'd be happy for just ONE. Just ONE title. In something. ANYTHING.

We have the best record and player in the NBA. Doesn't matter. Just ask the Indians, who had all-stars in nearly every position in the mid-90s. Gave Atlanta their only title in anything because of no starting pitching. Still got beat in 1997 by a five-years-young franchise with overrated pitching that they should have blown out of the water because they all of a sudden couldn't close a game to save their lives.

Just ask the Browns, who continually got bested by John Fucking Elway. Every. Single. YEAR.

The Cavs, by some miracle could have Amare Stoudemire and Carlos Boozer on the frontcourt, have a 74-6 record in the regular season. Wouldn't matter. There will always be some way we'd blow it. Some missing element, a couple of bad games by a few players, shots somehow wouldn't fall, there'd be some goddamned team from the Dumbshine State that'll play better than us.

We're truly and infamously CURSED. And let me tell you, it's getting goddamned TIRESOME.

46. I follow the NFL closely and yet have never had a favorite team.
For me, especially given where I grew up, it all begins and ends with the Montreal Alouettes.

I have, however, been to several NFL stadiums and find that Philly fans (the ones who go to the games) are the most obnoxious group of people I've ever seen. The less fans the team has, the better.
