Poll question: For some time, one of the critters here has been staking his claim by leaving little
marks here and there around the house. It could be our ancient cat Sapa, but I'm leaning toward one the the two dogs, Guinness or Pooka.

So, this morning, as I was sitting working at one end of the house, I heard a loud BZZZZZZAP!from the other end, followed by the sound of one dog running up the stairs and the other trotting over to me. It sounded electrical, but it could have been the sound of a chair being moved on our wooden floors. I got up and looked around, but didn't see anything at first since everything was turned off at that end of the house. Then the smoke alarm went of and I caught a whiff of cooked wires. So I rousted the college students and really looked around. There at the base of the wall was an outlet with scorch marks and a suspicious puddle beneath it.

1. One of the first two options, but I can't say which.
Dogs don't make that kind of mistake twice.

5. He's actually putting on good weight (not water weight)
and is eating well. He still checks things out and went out on the porch to check out the barn cat Sid while Sid was having a snack. He likes to sit on the back of the couch behind someone's head if we're watching TV, although sometimes he sneaks into a lap.

4. I have no idea
Pardon me but

Cattle love to chew on plastic. Exposed wiring is risky around here but as far as I know none have ever done it to anything live, or plugged in. I have never heard of anything like this. yeeooowwch!
