Here's the story of: The bunny's alive! The bunny escaped! The bunny is home free!!
Teaser posted yesterday http://tinyurl.com/bunnyescaped

Sunday morning I was sitting on our enclosed porch enjoying my coffee and the fabulous day. Out of the corner of my eye I see Daddy - just the top half of him through the windows - go trotting by in that important, front-heavy way that says "I brought breakfast!" He has trotted up to the door. I go to see what he has, and at first I think it's a squirrel, but it has no tail. It looks dead. I yelled at him "if that's not dead you'd better do it now and humanely!" I was pissed, but what could I do?

After I slammed the door on him he trotted around to the back. Now I was over my first reaction, and had to see what he had and whether I had a chance of rescuing it. I followed him to the back of the house and up onto the deck. Just as I got there he put his prey down on the step. It was a baby bunny, maybe six inches long. It was sitting up, there was no blood, it was just fine. I walked over to pick it up before he could grab it again and it took off! It hopped across the deck and off - a 6-8 foot drop. I walked to the rail to watch its escape only to find that Rat Face had pounced on it. I yelled and clapped as loudly as I could; Rat Face jumped away and the bunny started hopping again. Rat Face went after it again, and again the yelling and clapping worked.

The bunny made it across the yard, into the little grove next to the propane tank, and through the fence. Daddy followed but couldn't find it.

Bunny Escapes! Bunny Lives!!
