Pocket Watches

Way back when I worked in kitchens and bakeries, we weren't allowed to wear anything on our hands or wrists (when working with large mixers, you could get hooked on one and subsequently pulled in.) So, I got used to wearing no watch and when I no longer worked for the Food Slavery Industry, wearing a wristwatch no longer felt "natural". So, one Christmas, my ex-wife bought me the pocketwatch above.

One thing it does is make you less in a hurry to know the time. And I like that, especially if it aggravates those that are in a hurry to know the time Unfortunately, that doesn't come up so often. But I do prefer having it in my pocket instead of on my wrist. People comment about how cool it is, too ;)

1. I can't stand wearing jewelry, especially around my hands. So pocketwatch for me too.

Does the glass ever get scratched?

3. Just an el cheapo Coleman I got at Target. Normally 20 bucks but they were getting rid of that model

so I picked it up on clearance for 3.50. :P

I need a new battery though.

But the battery and replacement (like at a watch-shop) will cost you more than the watch is worth :P

Find a little watch-shop that needs the business. They'll often do it for about $15-25, battery included :)

6. I wear mine all the time, so it's in my left front pocket

thus the pic with it in my left hand ;)

If I ever wore suits or jackets much, I would likely have a vest and wear the watch in it, old-style :D
