1. Thank you for that laugh!
Where is his banjo hiding? (Not that he would have the skill to play it!)

13. What a great summary of W in pictures
The saluting with the dog is a classic. There was a new DUer on a thread in GD who swore the picture of W dropping Barney was a fake (Bush v. Kerry pictures thread) saying that there is no way W would carry the dog around. That is too funny.

16. That guy is WAAAAAYYYYY too good lookin' to be the same person!
I couldn't believe that was him and as it turns out, that guy must've been a different kid, cuz he's not the banjo kid!

Here's the banjo kid:

Billy Redden, co-owner of the Cookie Jar Cafe south of Clayton in Rabun County, took a break from his kitchen duties to perform in the movie "Big Fish," directed by Tim Burton, which opens in Atlanta on Christmas Day.

Billy Redden doesn't play the banjo; he got the picker's part in "Deliverance" as a 15-year-old on the strength of his looks.

sno cones,
Aripeka awaits the Sno Show this Saturday evening at the community center. Start time is 7:00. Dave has promised to learn the words to his new songs that he is supposed to sing this weekend. Wish him luck. He is still upset about finding out he is really not the inbred kid on the porch playing banjo in Deliverance. I know I should have told him sooner but I just didn't think he was ready yet...

sno cones, Thanks to Harry Schwab for this little known sno fact:
This is a bio of the banjo boy in the movie Deliverance.

The Nov. 17, 2003 issue of the "New Yorker" magazine has information on the actual banjo boy (Page 64, in "Talk of the Town," "The Pictures, The Return of the Banjo Boy").

His name is Billy Redden. He was chosen from a local elementary school. He couldn't play the banjo very well and had another boy do the left hand work for him. Although he was given the banjo, his mother had to sell it to pay the bills. He now is 47, and works as a cook and dishwasher.

However, he will be appearing in another film, "Big Fish," which is to be released next month. He is only on the screen for a few seconds -- sitting on a porch and holding a banjo.

28. Checked Snopes
http://www.snopes.com/quotes/quayle.htm

Half way down the page, they list Dan Quayle's quotes. Looks like the same quotes you listed. The repukes did this to Al Gore in 2000...used Dan Quayle quotes and attributed them to Gore...just changed the dates. I wouldn't want Dems to lose credibility by doing the same, when there are hundreds, if not thousands of direct quotes from Bush to use. B-)
