28. I always wanted to get an RTF degree - it looked interesting as hell.
One of my friends is a SAC graduate who went on to Incarnate Word. He's out of the TV business now, though.

I also should go to grad school, but not knowing what I want to be when I grow up makes that hard to do. :-)

Before it got bought by Fox 29, of course. I'd BS with him while he edited movies and TV shows.

De La Salle Institute (Catholic Boys HS - South Side of Chicago), 1991

Beloit College - Political Science Major/Journalism minor 1995

Seton Hall MPA 1997

Incidentally, at Beloit, I lived in the house folks loved to hate (not that I can't see why). But I swear most of my friends were (and are) good people. Some even proud liberals.

Interesting thing about Beloit - for as small a school as it is, I find myself running into fellow alums at a rate that seems high given the size of the school (though those results can possibly be attributed to the fact that I live in Chicago - where a significant chunk of Beloiters come from. Still, I did meet and frequently hang out with a fellow Beloiter when living in NJ).

53. Go Maroons.
I went to the University of Chicago for two years undergrad, before I took the Great Books idea to heart and left school entirely for a decade. Might also have had something to do with reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance my sophomore year with Pirsig's critique of UC. Still think it's a great school though and shows the paradox of how an essentially conservative teaching method creates quite liberal thinking. Another reason that I get very nervouse when the terms liberal and conservative are bandied about too much without being defined.

87. My dad taught at Brother Rice!
It was his very first teaching job, out of college. He taught Spanish.

He lasted a whole year, what with him being Jewish and utterly ignorant of Catholicism and letting a class get away with "praying for a sick friend" for 20 minutes at a time...he did go on to public schools -- Disney and later Niles Township, from which he retired last June.
