5. Then you know
what it's like to be herded to bed at night and rousted and herded out of bed every morning...

Your baby is so sweet! What a pretty pooch! :hi:

6. Thank you....
"what it's like to be herded to bed at night and rousted and herded out of bed every morning..."

You just gave me the biggest smile. Just when you thought you were a grown-up you realize that you have a 4-legged mom.

7. One of my favorite memories
We were on a college road trip to the Grand Canyon. Along the way, our van had to stop because a herd of sheep was ahead of us. Not a human in sight - just this little border collie. The dog looked at us as she/he nipped at the sheep to get them to cross the road. Made sure every single critter was out of danger. Gave us an all clear bark and off she/he went.

12. They really are
I'm not sure if it's common @ rodeos but I've seen a couple of cutting presentations where the dog works in concert with the horse. Neat stuff.

13. Great story. Having been "owned" by a Border Collie, I can
totally picture this -- they are so smart!

9. Awww, what a cutie!
:-) I'm right there with you. I have two cattle dogs - an ACD and a Louisiana Catahoula Leopard. They herd us everywhere we go and refuse to go if we are not all together!

10. Going for walks on a leash
They don't mean to, but as they herd you, they tend to trip you.
At least mine does. :hi:

At home, I have to watch out at times because I know she's right behind me, especially if I'm in the kitchen. :D

11. I know! I lost Cindy once when she was a puppy
She followed me into the garage and I didn't know it and closed the door. I looked all over the neighborhood for two hours - frantic! They have tripped me up more than once. I wouldn't trade them for the world though :-).

16. Wow.. you have enlightened me!!

THAT's why my Akita wants to pull me into ditches/off banks/into roads/through breyer patches when I put a leash on him. He's "on the hunt."

:)

17. I know what you mean
"Sally, are there any kitties, ratties, possums out here?!"

Sally guides us with a quick peck of her nose on the back or front of our thighs to let us know she wants to be let out the back door, or have a ball tossed. She doesn't nip at our heels, though.
