Favorite candle scent?
I'm currently out of candles at the house and needed to get some more, so I was thinking about what I'd most like to get, when I have the chance.

My all-time favorite is one called "Leather" from a local company, Breaking the Mold. Swear to god, it smells exactly like a brand new leather jacket.

My runner-up favorite is one from the same company called "Denim," which doesn't smell like denim, but certainly evokes some sense of comfort and coolness anyway.

What are your favorites?

1. I like fresh, breezy scents for the warm weather and
heavier, spicy scents for the cold weather.

I buy from Yankee Candle, Illuminations and Crafted Candles.

2. If you have a link for Breaking the Mold
and they ship, I'd like to see what they have.

I'm boring when it comes to candles. Vanilla is a scent that always calms me down.

5. I just checked their site -- it's down right now.
http://www.breakingthemold.com/

But they do ship, and online I think has a better selection than their retail stores -- the shops are always rotating a limited variety, and my favorites aren't always in stock. Not sure if they keep the same scents around forever, but I always ask about Leather when I'm in their stores, and I always seem to miss them by a few weeks: "We had a couple of those in here last month, but we're out now. Not sure when the home store will be making more..."

Haven't tried orange-clove yet, but that sounds really comforting.

Decadent. Seriously, it's almost wrong how much it smells like the real thing.

12. I hate almost all of them.
The piney ones you can get for Christmas aren't too bad, but most of the rest of them ... :puke:

They are too cloyingly sweet-smelling -- bleh. My most unfavorites are the ones that are supposed to smell like food; "vanilla" is especially nasty.

21. leather - yes, that's an actual scent
someone gave me a soy candle that was leather scented - not quite sure they got the scent just right, but it was the best smelling candle I've ever had. I've never been able to find it again.
