1. Is Kava-Kava legal?

By that I mean, is it detectable on a urinalysis??

If I order on a Monday it's in the mailbox on Wednesday. I don't know how it's sold at the Hy-Vee, but I like what they call "Kaviar Instant Kava Powder". $11 for 30 grams. I think I used 5 grams per drink. It's completely soluble and doesn't require any straining. If I remember right, I think I just mixed it in some warm tea and drank it down like a medicine. I've read that steeping it like a hot tea destroys some of its effectiveness.

Like you I think, I found it to be a mildly pleasurable relaxant that I'd recommend to anyone, my own mother if she was still alive. I haven't had it in almost a year, but, after all this talk about it, I plan on ordering some tomorrow.

I got mine in today and I was wondering what the normal dose is for the powder? I've seen everything from 1 teaspoon to 2 tablespoons. I tried 1 tablespoon and I can definitely feel it but it's not extreme or anything. I hope I didn't take too much though. Also, how long does it take for this to wear off?

They sent me some pill samples too. Do you know the dosage on those? They're 4g each.

In medium doses it is supposed to act as a euphorant, but I never noticed anything.

14. Advice for those who want to try Kava

1) Never mix Kava with alcohol. I normally abstain from alcohol 3 day before and 3 days after I have Kava.

2) ONLY get Kava root , and preferably prepare it the traditional way ...stay away from supplements in pill form , those may contain leave and stem parts , that can possibly cause liver damage.

I eat a peanut butter and jelly sandwich every day and a small glass of cheap ($6/bottle) fortified "wino" wine nearly every night. I haven't' got the slightest fucking idea whether this is cool or not.

Doing, or not doing, something based on whether it's perceived as "cool" is pathetically juvenile, don't you think?
