Here are videos of seriously underrated bands (Post 'em if you got 'em)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pO-htAYP5jI&feature=related

First up are The Montesas from Hamburg, Germany, believe it or not. They're more American roots than most American bands. You might even think this video was made in 1962, but it's from 2007.

And here's another from The Montesas:

19. Colorado high country, mountain cajun slamgass!
One of the most diverse bands ever. More bluegrass than anything else but they do it all from Cajun swamp grass to hip hop. They are also one big old huge ton of fucking fun live. party down with these guys.

They are really well respected in the music community, however. Peter Rowan, the Grateful dead,David grisman, Sam Bush and tons of bluegrassy musicians love them. They do anything, barrelhouse polka tunes and dirty blues and some of the best covers ever (Stairway to Gilligans island)
http://www.archive.org/details/los1998-08-12.km54.flac16 A Great older show

And an incredible show http://www.archive.org/details/los2001-01-25.los2001-01-25 that was right before their banjo player (mark vann) died. he was having treatment for cancer but the band was out there with somebody else (Jeff Mosier from the band Blueground Undergrass). This show also has Peter Rowan and two guys from little feat on it. Peter is incredible, the "Land of the navajo" is stupendeous.

38. Moxy Früvous
Canadian band from the mid 90s, doing songs with lots of four-part harmonies

Gulf War Song - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2Y7HslyQXE
(Actually about the first Gulf War, but sadly current today)

King of Spain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-00zjEq9PNs

One of my favorites is "Greatest Man In America" making fun of Rush Limbaugh. I couldn't find it on YouTube, so I'll just post the lyrics:

Greatest Man in America (Live)

(Murray)
Ditto..
(Jian)
Ditto...
(Dave)
Ditto....
(Mike)
Ditto.....

(All)
Coming from Canada, we love those leaders who pesonify the US way to be,
There was JFK, and LBJ, and WKRP.
But of all of these there is not one to rival the greatest genius of them all
He's a megalo with a healthy glow
He's the man called Rush Limbaugh.
(Mike)
He's a dose of P.T. Barnum
(Murray)
With a Mussolini twist.
(All)
There in the limosine, parked on the lawn,
He's a goofy Gengis Khan.

Not since Jesus Christ has the world seen someone
With such widely sindicated views
Hundreds of years from now they'll celebrate Rush-mas
And Rush-ashana for the Jews.
'Cause he'll pull the plug on femi-nazis, paranoid minorities and gays.
He's a burning bush with a network push,
Sure to start a country-wide blaze.
(Mike)
He taught me to love and praise Charlton Heston
(Murray)
Oliver North is quite a nice man too.
(All)
Forget Al and Tipper
Let's bring back the Gipper
And Joe McCarthy too!

(Mike)
I was a troubled soul, consumed by voices advocating special interest groups and vice
'Till Rush rushed to my sweet rescue
Now I'll never ever hafta think twice.
(All)
Never ever hafta think twice...

(All)
So we'll sign a check for Limbaugh-ism
Restore the moral fundamental core
We'll cut the debt,
And start a Tet
Offensive on the poor.
It's a blitzkrieg in the making (everybody!)
It's distinctly upper-class (well, not everybody...)
Yes sir I'll get the door
Roll the carpet on the floor
For a man...
For a man...
For a man...
Such a man...
For a man....
With his head up his-

Ditto!
Ditto!
Ditto!
Ditto!

(All)
Ask us the name the name of the King - It's Rush!

From the Liner:
1994- We wrote this tribute upon being unable to escape this mega-media master on our first US tour in early '94. His borderless omnipresence is underscored by recent cathode-ray incursions into Canada. Amen.

47. Comsat Angels -- "Independence Day"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXw7a3FdBL4

Back in 1981, they were rivals to a little band called U2-- even to the point of co-headlining with them on UK tours. Unfortunately for CSA, didn't have the right image, being just four regular blokes from Sheffield.

Their music, however, was superior to anything by Bono et. al., and now, 20 years after they first emerged, they are finally getting their due.

They played their first show in 14 years last Sunday in Sheffield, and blew everyone away by all accounts (see teh Googles for info). It took 20 years, but they're finally getting their due.
