Some people do NOT need pets! EVER! My stupid ass brother
(who I love with all of my heart) just called me. He got his daughter a dog. A Chihuahua. Apparently the dog got dropped and he think the leg got broken. He asked me if he should take it to the vet tonight or could it wait until tomorrow. WTF???? He was freaking out though. So, he calls the vet. They have no after hours clinic there. The vet told him to give the dog Tylenol and come in the morning! WTF???? I am beyond pissed. What kinda fucking vet is that? Makes me so thankful for my after hours clinic here. And you aren't even supposed to give a dog Tylenol.

And when did my brother become that person that doesn't know to take a dog to the vet if the leg is broken??? Why would you even contemplate letting the dog suffer through the night? Apparently the vet doesn't give a fuck. It knows this poor little dog is going to suffer through the night. And my niece is devastated because she is the one who dropped the dog.

1. I'm going to keep my thoughts to myself, and simply wish
the dog a painless evening and that the injury is much less than a broken leg.

2. Your thoughts are probably my thoughts.
And I don't know when my brother lost his compassion for animals. It used to be there when were younger.

I am disgusted by all of this. And I am so sad for this dog. He has a long night ahead. I hope he makes it through the night. There are NO words.

3. Toy breeds are NOT ideal pets for a child.
Back when I had toy breeds, I had people ask me if they'd make good companions for young children, and I always did my utmost to dissuade them of the notion. A small dog is easily hurt by an unintentionally clumsy child, and is also faster to defend themselves if they feel threatened. For a kid's pet, you want a larger, easygoing breed.

Hope you were able to give your brother some advice for keeping the dog quiet and as comfortable as possible through the night. Sending good wishes to the little chihuahua.

4. I did my best to advise against this breed. He has a 4 and a 7 year old.
Not the best for kids. But she had to have this dog. I just knew something like this was going to happen. Now this poor dog is suffering. I am so upset about this. And that piece of shit vet of his. Tylenol is not for dogs. I have given mine buffered aspirin, but never Tylenol.

5. That is awful.
I can't even image letting that dog suffer. The man and I have a Chihuahua. I love her to death.
This is so sad.

6. I know! He is too ignorant to have a pet.
Obviously. He is a good person, but apparently not an animal person. He knew the answer before he asked. But his baby was so upset, he was trying to make it better for her. Now the damn vet gave him some bogus advice. Fuck that.

He married a woman who never had a pet. She is not an animal person AT ALL. But we grew up with them, so I was shocked he called me to ask such a dumb question.
