Best Power Ballad Ever
We had a thread about the worst one, but what's the best one? No poll this time--just add your own answer. :)

My vote: tie between these two--

Total Eclipse of the Heart - Bonnie Tyler http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=840B27zYfOk

I Want To Know What Love Is - Foreigner http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gz2cUX0CNA8

4. The rediculously long live version of "November Rain"
It's goofy, overwrought and undeservedly pretentious, it exhibits just about every one of Axl Rose's myriad defects as a musician, and it still works as a really enjoyable piece of music.

Also, "Alone" was mentioned on the other thread. It's great, as a power ballad. Easy to knock for having typical power ballad defects, but it's a totally workable example of the form. Plus Heart is teh awesome, so while it's nothing like their 70's stuff, it's still not bad for what it is.

5. Those are both among my favorites.
Not sure I could pick one as "the best."

9. Nothing Else Matters - Metallica
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bAsA00-5KoI

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say
and nothing else matters

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
but I know

Never opened myself this way
Life is ours, we live it our way
All these words I don't just say

Trust I seek and I find in you
Every day for us, something new
Open mind for a different view
and nothing else matters

never cared for what they say
never cared for games they play
never cared for what they do
never cared for what they know
and I know

So close, no matter how far
Couldn't be much more from the heart
Forever trusting who we are
No, nothing else matters

12. I love this question, but what is the definition of a "ballad"?
The only one I can think of is "The Ballad of Danny Bailey" by Elton John, which happens to me my favorite cut off of "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road."
