My friend's mom met John Kerry

in Tucson, Arizon. She had gone for a bike ride and happened upon a park where people were waiting for him to show up. While she stood there, a white van pulled up a few yards away, and Sen.Kerry got out! He was quite charming, and friendly, she said, very good looking, and he stopped to talk and shake hands with everyone nearby.

She said "We love you." And he grinned and thanked her. She then told him "You're a compassionate warrior" and according to her, he was briefly at loss for words for some reason, making her wonder if that was the wrong thing to say. Then he said"And we're gonna get this done!" And thanked her again.

I thought it was a nice story, despite my personal ambivalence towards the man. She seemed pretty starry-eyed, telling me about it in the grocery store the other day and I couldn't help but feel kind of awed myself. She's an astrologer with a thing for Sagittarians, too.:)
