1. beautiful
did you see the "bragging" markers in the floor in St. Peters where it defines how much bigger St. Peter's is than other churches?

I thought that was really bizarre, otherwise it was unbelievable inside and to think that the entire thing is covered predominately in mosaic.

7. My dear NewJeffCT!
Ah! Wonderful pics!

I love the Pieta...that's got to be challenging to photograph. Isn't it surrounded by glass?

Thank you for these...

:hi:

9. Your 13th photo
was the cathedral in Florence, right? If so, its facade has been cleaned up very nicely.

Nice photos!!

10. Love looking at your pix
:bounce:

Several I've seen would make a nice collage on the wall with larger versions. The one of Mrs NewJeffCT over the Florence skyline is really beautiful for instance.

I'm not worthy of breaking a vow of silence over.

Delta was good to us as well.

15. Well...
my "vow" wasn't really "broken." I just took a very quick break from it.

Glad Delta treated you well. :-)

22. thanks
It was a good trip, but tiring. And, we couldn't pass up $400 round trip airfares.

We did a lot of running around, both within the various cities, and to the various cities. But, next trip to Europe, I'm booking the hotels.

:applause:

Nice to see the Duomo all restored--when we were there three years ago, they were working on it, so our pics from piazza michelangelo have scaffolding surrounding the tower.

Your pictures take me back in a new way. Thanks for sharing them! :hi:
