Waaaaaaah. I want Mickey!
He's this adorable green cheek conure at Petco. He's the first parrot ever to lie upside down in my hand, without clinging onto my thumb. Only knew me 2 minutes and he was already so relaxed... Rusty will relax in my hand, but still hold on. I wish I had my camera, he was the sweetest little bird. Playful and acrobatic too!

Another person came in and wanted the bird to step onto her hand, but he kept biting her.

I would have bought him, except for two reasons:

1. My cell phone/PDA developed a fault and a replacement has priority.

2. Scooter and Rusty, my two conures, would have a real jealousy-induced s*it fit to see another conure in the house...

He'll be GREAT for a family that knows a thing or two about birds, but he's just not for me. :(

Minnie, his cagemate, while shy, took to me right away as well.

Blackjack, the blackcap conure, was rather aggressive. (See, not ALL the birds get along with me... :( )

1. My dear Deja Q...
Ah, there's a time and a place for everything...

And right now, you do have other priorities...

Still, I hear you!

I hope Mickey gets a good home too...I'm betting he will...

2. I just spent 10 minutes with Rusty...
You're right; I do have priorities... and I oughtn't hoard all the good birds either. He will make some family very happy, and vice-versa.

I had Scooter on my shoulder for 30 minutes; he just purred and purred (parrots can purr if they feel contented :) ) and that made up for it. And who knows, introducing Mickey might have had Scooter bonding with him anyway... :(
