Some pissed off guy shot up a nursing home a few miles north of where I live. Killed like 8 old people and my friend from high school got shot 27 times trying to defend the old people.

Holy fucking shit! What next? People shooting up day care centers?

I hate FReepers. RIP Jerry.

His funeral. I recognize about half the people in this video. I see where they buried him. He will get honored. That's good.

2. He had the prettiest hair in high school.
The vote for prettiest hair on a guy was between him, Troy Carr, who also died due to gun fire as a DEA agent, and Stevie Helton, another friend of mine who died when he was 16. It seems like too many of my friends have died through the years.

I knew some really good people in the AP classes. You see nicer people in those types of classes in high school. It just seemed to work that way. We were a tight knit bunch of people because there were so few of us in those classes and we always had our classes together every year. Other kids in other classes were more scattered. Being in the same classes with the same group of people year after year made us closer. It makes you remember them a little more lovingly.

Oh God, Jerry took 27 bullets. I can't get over that. He really was a hero. Oh my God. Who could take that many bullets and still keep trying?

I didn't expect tears when my aunt asked me if I remembered Jerry from high school. I thought maybe he had gone on to become a doctor and was coming home to practice here. I has no idea he had died and it happened last Sunday. I hadn't heard the news when she told me about it tonight.

4. That's just horrifying--I'm speechless.

I am so sorry. While your friend perished as a hero, that's cold comfort as to the depravity of the nightmare. I just don;t even know what to say...

May Jerry and the other poor victims rest in peace.
