Do cats cry (you know, with tears and all?)

I've needed to put dental rinse in the cat's mouth everyday (of course he hates it). Today though, as I squirted it, I saw tears come out of his eyes. Ohh poor baby! Made me feel soooo bad. He's such a nice cat, but a big, big baby.

The last time I remember that is a few years ago I had to put drops in his ears and when I held his head still a tear came out and rolled over my hand.

So my question is is this just a reaction to the medicine or do they make tears based on some emotional thing like we do sometimes?

1. I think its just a reaction to the meds.

I think they tend to vocalize or other behaviors if they are unhappy....

but i kind of had the same suspicion.

luckily he is very nice and has never bitten or put his claws out. once i was trimming his claws and as i held his paw he rested his head on my hand before i attempted to do it. :rofl:

3. I had to give my old cat Turtle meds..

and she hated it..she yowled unhappily alot. Believe me if cats could cry she would have...
