Can someone explain BBC America's airing of Ashes to Ashes...
Is it showing Season 1 for the first time while Season 2 is being played in England?

2. So we can expect Season 2 in about a year?
Since it's on in England now, will we get it next year?

Thanks for the information..

3. BBCAmerica staggers some of the shows.
Ashes to Ashes is one, Top Gear is another. We may get them a season or even a full year later.

4. This phrase always reminds me of meeting with a family to plan a funeral once.
The woman asked me to read "the part of the Bible that says 'ashes to ashes, dust to dust'." When I told that phrase isn't in the Bible, she insisted it was. I knew there was no point in arguing, so I did some research and found the phrase in the Book of Common Prayer and put that prayer in the liturgy.

Much easier fix than the man who wanted me to read the part where it tells how people become angels and get their wings. I considered quoting from "It's a Wonderful Life", but thought better of it.

5. A funeral story that a former fellow choir member in Portland told me:
The person who told the story was a retired high school home ec. teacher. At one school where she taught, the other home ec. teacher was a super straight-laced and prudish woman who was always lecturing her student about the evils of alcohol, R-rated movies, tight clothing, and of course, non-marital sex.

The prudish woman was killed in a car crash, and at her memorial service, her husband got up and announced that the gathering would end with the playing of her favorite song: "Strangers in the Night."

My friend said she had trouble not laughing through the song as she wondered whether her straight-laced deceased colleague had ever listened to the WORDS, which, of course, are about picking up a stranger for sex.
