I may be going to Kansas City next week.

Can you recommend any good restaurants?

Thanks in advance.

1. enjoy the oddly shaped, and inefficient airport!
(well, mainly if you have to change planes there)

3. I would suggest the Intra-Coastal Waterway in that case.
Take a barge. You can get your petro-chemical fix easier that way :D

6. ah river trip - that sounds nice!

The city is supposed to be very nice. We only saw the airport, which was actually surrounded by an actual rural area, and fields. (I've lived in the city too long, I suspect)

And we had some of the worst food there that I have ever had in an airport. I suspect food and entertainment in the city there are much better.

8. I thought it was a cool airport. I was able to get to my plane quickly.
At least if we're talking about the same airport - I was there in 1997, the one with the circular driveways, and you get out of your car or taxi and you're almost right at the gate where you check in - none of the endless long walks such as at L.A., Phoenix or Atlanta.

16. when we changed planes and gates, we had to schlepp all our stuff through
security again, before entering the gate. Each gate had it's own security area, which I found to be a pain in the butt.

just my experience.

19. I could sort of see why they did it, but it was a big pain

that's what I thought... it may be that way due to what you are describing, if folks can immediately enter each gate with no main "gateway" in which to place the security lines, since it was designed in a less worried time.

14. Oddly, I was in KC today
Fiorellas Jack Stack Barbeque. My preferred location is the one in the Freight House, but they also have locations in Overland Park and at the Country Club

The Hereford House had a big fire. Obviously, don't skip that.

More BBQ - Arthur Bryants is supposed to be excellent (I have not been there)
