7. Yes indeed. It is a photo from the famous "Live at Leeds" show.
Funny. When I was a kid, I always thought it took place outdoors or in some huge auditorium.

As it turns out, the venue at Leeds only held about 1500.

Alright then. What's the date??

19. Greatest live album ever, IMO
I bought this in 1980, when I was about 12 and I continue to be blown away every time I listen to it.

I was going to say leeds, 70 or 71 also,(especially since I still have my original copy on vinyl, first Who album I ever bought) but I thought that would be a little too much on the vague side and not count.

4. It LOOKS like Eddie Money at that place in Chicago when U2 was opening up
for them... on the north side, what WAS the name of that place? In 1981 / 82 of course.

Was it a palladium?

Good show.

10. Zeppelin from that distance at that angle looks exactly like the Who
:D

Anyway, everyone else just looked at the 'properties' of the image. ;-)

Page never wore that white jumpsuit Townsend's got on in the pic & that he wore at Woodstock. That's the real giveaway.
& Entwhistle has more of a hulking presence than John Paul Jones also.

no need to look at properties

Edited on Mon Mar-08-04 04:11 PM by jpgray
Page had a very similar white suit, albeit not a jumpsuit, to Pete's. In the shot XNASA posted, you would have a very difficult time distinguishing the two.

21. Ha!!
that suit is way too fruity, not nearly as proletarian as Townsend's!
No way to confuse the two.
What's with all that stuff on the legs there.?
I can remember when I used to wear clothes like that.

26. If I agree
how can I get in a flame war?
That's what I'm wondering.
So I must disagree
I will not listen to reason.

27. But I also want a flame war, so if you agree with me I must flame you
Therefore the universe will inevitably collapse upon itself. Repent.

Seriously, you win the argument. :D I bow to your ability to discern Pete's blurry, distant jumpsuit. I could only tell it was the Who because of the drum kit and the inimitable look of Moon.

18. I urge you all to get the recording of this show.
However, you might want to consider finding the "unofficial" version, as the sound is better, and it is unedited. (Yes, I know there's a "complete" release that updates the original. The "unofficial" version is still better.)

If you're clever, you should be able to find this recording without paying some jerkwad $70 for a two-CDR set. Many people out there will provide it for free, if you send them two blank discs and a return mailer.
