St. Pat's not among Top 8 beer drinking holidays
http://www.delawareonline.com/article/20090317/ENTERTAINMENT/90317015
Oceans of suds, green or not, will be consumed today.

But St. Patrick’s Day isn’t one of the top beer drinking holidays.

In fact, it’s not even one of the top eight.

Uh, come again, laddie?

Rob Kasper, who writes the Kasper on Tap blog for The Baltimore Sun, reports that the nation’s top beer holiday is actually – wait for it, wait for it – the Fourth of July. (That’s no blarney.)

The other top holidays for wetting the whistle, according to data from the Nielsen Co., are: 2. Labor Day, 3. Memorial Day, 4. Father's Day, 5. Christmas, 6. Thanksgiving, 7. Easter, 8. Super Bowl.

10. Fourth of July
I've heard this is the day when there are more drunks on the highway then any other day. Even more than New Year's Eve. It makes sense:
1) Usually hot;
2) Festivities begin late morning/early afternoon and go all day and night long;
3) Picnics with lots of barbecue to make one thirsty;
4) More casual atmosphere leads to "keggers."
