I thought mine was obvious, as opposed to many of yours which I can't figure out, but I did have a person confused over it in the past, so:

Now, tell us what yours means.

10.  It's really very simple ~
There are only a few things that I enjoy more than feeling of a breeze against my skin.

As a child I loved the freedom of weekends at Lake Lanier in Georgia. My father always had a small boat of some kind. It was great getting away from Atlanta into the woods and out on the lake. The air never seemed cleaner or clearer than it did back when I went camping and fishing with my Dad.

From there I progressed to riding a motorcycle at 18 because I couldn't afford a car. I was the only mate moving a 60' sport fishing boat from Key West to the New York Harbor. The wind in your face a mile off shore is awesome! I even owned a very small (12 foot) Beetle Cat Sailboat of my own. I've owned 2 convertibles. Now I ride a Honda Trike.

Yep ~ In The Wind fits me just fine.

13. Mine's just a character I created a long time ago.
I used to design RPGs and I decided to make kind of an anti-Mary-Sue character in my superhero RPG universe. But then I realized it didn't encompass myself as well as it could have, so I decided to make it a little more complicated and have it so that the character had actually been split into two seperate personalities, Light and Dark Tirade. He didn't have particularly strong powers compared to the other superheroes in that universe, but that's why Spiderman and Batman are usually more interesting than Superman. They aren't super-perfect. :)

34. "He's an asspain when he wants something, but mostly good people."
http://www.hbo.com/thewire/cast/characters/tommy_carcetti.shtml

The politically astute Valchek once said of then-Councilman Carcetti: "He's an asspain when he wants something, but mostly good people." Having aspirations besides warming the backbench, this self-described proud son of the Fighting First District harbors a genuine idealism and a desire to improve the life of the city's diverse population. But those ideals are harnessed to naked political ambitions. With a steady and calculated effort, Carcetti unseated Baltimore's black incumbent mayor, despite the fact that he is white in a majority-black city. To do so, Carcetti had to play hardball politics. Carcetti is about contradictions: a family man committed to his wife and young children, he isn't above the odd indiscretion. Nor was he above sacrificing Colvin and his drug legalization experiment, even though it was clear to him that there was some merit to the idea. Now that he's made it to the mayor's office, he's dealing with some of the thorniest tradeoffs of his career — including a compromise that would bring state money to desperate city agencies while helping a potential political rival.

84. It means it was the first song on the CD I had just put in.
:P

Ok, there's a little more to it than that. One, it's of of my all time favorite songs. Two, the lyrics seem to be about these kind of "plumber" type people who work for the government (or just "the man" in general) screwing people behind the scenes, and I thought it would be neat to be the Forkboy working against them instead. I actually had a DUer put me on ignore after reading the lyrics because it sounded like troll lyrics...and they do. That's the point. Only it's going from Left to Right in my case. :D

The lyrics, in case it matters....

A fork is a cold shiny tool
To pierce, tear and ingest
Whoever has the fork in hand
Controls the meal of its choice
We're told the first few punctures
They're for our own good
Better carved up in pieces
Than blown up in the oven

Forkboy
Flies by night on stolen fuel
To Santa Rosa, CA
Opens a fake employment office
"Want a job? Go get me drugs"
People desperate for work
Return to quite a surprise
Busted for intent to sell
Cops pay him a bounty
Forkboy skips town

We came
We peed
We conquered
You bleed

The choice:
Fork Boy
Or finger food
Ugly joy
What does it replace?
Why wait
When you can eat yourself alive today

Junk bondage takeover glutton
Ready to bore in
Unfold his rotary blades inside
Pull the guts out and resell them
Buys out his next target
With the last one's pension funds
Thousands more thrown out of work
So Leona won't have to settle for a mint
Forkboy Picked by the FBI
To be the black pied piper
After Dr. King died
Watches soap operas on TV
While 6 billion disappears from HUD
Who are you working for
What did you hope to gain
Why do you hate your past
So much you destroy
The ones you love

Forkboy!

And lastly, I was going to call myself Sylvestre Matuschka from the song on the same CD as Forkboy, which is a true story of a Bulgarian demolitions expert from the Army who was arrested in 1931 for causing the derailment of trains and masturbating to them as they happened. But I was too damn lazy to type that name out all the time. :)

"Glorfindel was tall and straight; his hair was of shining gold, his face fair and young and fearless and full of joy; his eyes were bright and keen, and his voice like music; on his brow sat wisdom, and in his hand was strength." From "The Fellowship of the Ring"

167. Yes, and I'm crushed that he died without finishing it
I have read most of the books twice and love the fantasy world he created. Having said that, the entire series would benefit from some judicious editing and paring. Far too many characters to keep track of, especially the dead ones who come back to life as someone else and others about whom you'd forgotten four or five books back but who show up with no apparent purpose.

91. kama'aina - local Hawai'i person, as distinguished from malihini (visitor)
often found in the phrase "kama'aina discount", which basically means "they won't let us charge outrageous prices just to tourists, so we set the list price of everything at the outrageous level, then make local people show ID to get the kama'aina discount, which is really what it would cost anyway."

116. A kama'aina may be of any racial or ethnic background
indeed, the term is often used to mean "Hawai'i resident", in place of "Hawaiian", which in local usage refers to the indigenous people of Polynesian ancestry. We find it rather amusing, for instance, to read an AP story about "Hawaiian golfer Michelle Wie", who is of Korean descent.

I myself am haole (Caucasian). I used the name because there were, and still are, very few Hawai'i posters at DU, even given our relatively small size.

138. I'm a little limited on Zelazny, unfortunately.
I've only read Lords of Light and Creatures of Light and Darkness. The latter being a total mindblower, I might add. Oh, and the short he wrote about the guy trying to stay in college forever to keep his inheritance.

I'm FAR from an acrophiliac. I get freaky at about 800 feet until I can sit there for a bit and get used to it. Have to repeat about every ropelength from there. I like to challenge my phobias. (Except the spider one. That stays.)

I'll have to check out Doorways in the Sand. I'm looking for some new stuff to read. (I avoided the wiki.)

Have you ever seen lightning and snow?"

I had a cat named Jamie that died from feline leukemia when I was 10 years old. I was a big Chris Stein (Blondie) fan too. I always wanted to grow up to be just like him, right down to his looks and who his girlfriend was.

I couldn't keep it straight with the i before e thing and his last name.

So, I mixed the two names and made it sound interesting. I don't know how to make the pronunciation thing work but it's jame a steen. Or at least, that is how I pronounce it. I use the same name everywhere.

what your native language is. In addition, they're easier to to transmit and receive via teletype and especially CW (morse code). QNR is an aviation related signal that means "I am approaching my point of no return." In other words, "If I fly any further, I will not have enough fuel to return to my point of origin and will have to continue on to my destination." Or, as another example: "I have to suspend the search for the missing vessel now, or you'll soon be searching for me."

I basically use it in varying senses... I'm annoyed, I'm mentally unstable, etc.

Edit: typo due to typing with a stylus.

239. Little Devil.
He was one of a litter of 13, so he was weaned VERY early. We brought him home when he was 3 1/2 weeks old. That pup tore apart more stuff his first day here than a normal 8 week old puppy can mangle in a week. Aside from his powers of destruction, he was a little doll. But, his entire life, he remained a little devil if things didn't go his way. As an adult, he got upset with me and chewed a dent in the wheel well of my car. A nice sized dent.

As for Pharaoh, he got his name because, as a puppy, every time he went outside, he left a little pyramid behind him.

214. It's a family pet name. Obviously, it means "dummy."
I remember the exact moment it came into our family lexicon.

My sister and I were watching TV many many years ago. A commercial for Cheetos came on. The announcer said, "Cheetos. Cheese that goes crunch." I immediately turned to my sister, pointed, and said, "Iggo. Iggs that goes crunch." Then I proceeded to mess her up a little bit, as sibs do. But the word stuck and it lives on as a family term of endearment, along with Lame, Punk-ass, Estupido, and others.

237. The Schema Things: It's a band name I made up
My friend's band almost went with it, but didn't. I've just kept it in the back of my mind since then.

(I've since realized that many people think it clever-but-negative, because they read it as referencing "scheming", since "schema" is apparently not in the common vernacular. Sorta like "common vernacular" is not in the common vernacular.)
