Man, I wish Adult Swim would quit showing King of the Hill.
It's not funny, and it doesn't fit in with the rest of the line up.

I think it's a glaring example of Adult Swim selling out in an attempt to get some of KOTH's lame ass viewers to boost their ratings.

1. KOTH is a documentary about Texas.
Just as Hee Haw was a documentary about Oklahoma.

2. Regardless of what it is a documentary of...
The novelty of it wore off after the first season. You can only laugh at the how that one guy talks for so long and point out that Hank Hill is actually Mr. Anderson from Beavis and Butthead so many times.

It also doesn't fit into the rest of the line up. Adult Swim is almost completely adsurdist humor. KOTH doesn't fit that mold at all.

3. What else does Adult Swim show?
I used to watch KOTH when there was nothing else on, and I am kinda lame ass, but I just thought I'd ask. To me the very name "Adult Swim" sounds lame ass. Do they show footage of adults swimming?

4. Family Guy is on now...
Adult Swim is mostly cartoons and a few live action shows based on absurdist humor. The majority of them are very funny.

KOTH doesn't fit in.

8. wow, KOTH, Family Guy...
Adult Swim sounds pretty cutting edge! What's up next? American Dad? Is this a Fox network?

9. It used to have Futurama too.
To be fair, they used those Fox shows as anchors for their much edgier stuff. Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen, Tim & Eric, etc., are all much edgier.

12. Robot Chicken? Aqua Teen?
If nobody cares about chickens (I posted my story about meeting two real chickens earlier tonight, no one cared) why would robot chickens be more interesting? I mean they don't even sound edible!

And as for Aqua Teen, the very name sounds lame! Not only a knockoff name of of a cheap aftershave but someone who Aquaman and Aqualad (who has been grown up for decades now)would have lots of "fishy" fun with!

7. I thought I was the only one
I always hated KOTH. I don't have a tv anymore but I always used the time it was on to fix myself something to eat or do a quick chore when I did. Sunday night was the only time I really had to watch tv and felt cheated by that half hour.

I'm not asking that Nick At Nite stop showing Fresh Prince and George Lopez, but could they show something else, too.

I remember the glory days of Nick At Nite. Dick Van Dyke. Mary Tyler Moore. Taxi. Bob Newhart Show. Classics, one and all.

I never watch Nick or TVLand anymore.

24. hmm
Dennis the Menace, I can do without. Donna Reed was a decent show. Lancelot Link? That was the chimp spy or detective or something, wasn't it? And I love the original SNL. And especially SCTV. Greatest show ever!

28. How about A&E actually showing arts and entertainment again for a change?
Instead of brainless celebreality crap like Dog the Bounty Hunter and Gene Simmons' Family Jewels?

Or how about CNN Headline News returning to actually focusing on news and not Nancy Grace yapping about missing and/or dead and/or on trial white girls?

I don't go out of my way to watch KOTH but it is sometimes on before the Simpsons so I'll leave it on if it is. It's harmless enough and not bad enough to acutally earn my dislike

So they can show some true gems like "Tim and Eric?" :eyes:

KOTH is funnier than 3/4 of Adult Swim's lineup.

20. One question:
having been away from Adult Swim for almost two years now. Do they still have anime? Or did they they stop showing anime in favor of shit like Tom Goes the Mayor and that Saul of the Molemen shit?

27. Another KOTH fan...
not rabid mind you, but enough to buy the DVDs on sale. I agree it's an acquired taste though, and probably not a good fit with Adult Swim. They need to bring back the cartoon version of Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventures... LOL
