how long until he tips it over, i've got $50 in less than 5 minutes.

This is what happens when he's home for too long, he gets ideas.

KIDDING!!!!

What kind of jeep? Wrangler? BoyM wants one and I told him he was free to use my credit card to purchase one on his way back from the cemetery after my service.

3. just your basic jeep, the type that has a soft top. this is a man who thinks a stop sign

is a suggestion, he also had 2 major front end accidents with my honda which is why i no longer have my honda. He blamed the "inferior honda brakes", of course it's not his depth of perception problem of shitty driving, no it was the brakes. }( He is now under a self imposed ban of never driving another one of my cars.

29. "inferior Honda brakes" eh?
He needs to do some research on the brakes of Jeep Wranglers... stopping distances are somewhat longer than that Honda of yours on stock brakes.

I drive a Jeep Liberty. I always wanted a Wrangler but given its non-existent side impact safety rating and the fact I carry around kids a Wrangler isn't a good day-to-day vehicle, so I got my compromise Jeep instead and I love it. Wife said she didn't care for it and didn't like driving it... but last couple of weekends she wanted to take it instead of the minivan... even AFTER I cleaned the minivan out for her (she does accumulate a lot of clutter - e.g. mail doesn't make it into the house).

27. I begged for one for graduation. My mom laughed.
Not only are they dangerous, the insurance for a teen was astronomical. At least that is what my mom told me. But money grew on trees, and I was invincible, so I don't see what the problem was!

30. Wranglers, insurance wise maybe.
I was surprised: when I went vehicle shopping I had a shortlist of Jeep Liberty, Mercury Milan and Honda Fit. Any three of these vehicles would have been great for me. The cheapest to insure? Jeep Liberty. Most expensive? Honda Fit. I chose the Liberty for a number of reasons but the fact that it's not outrageously expensive to insure was a positive factor in its choice.

32. I wanted a Wrangler. My mom told me the insurance for me was $700/month.
This was in 1996. She may have been exaggerating because I don't even think she looked into it. There was no way I was getting that Jeep. I completely understand now. But 17 year old me was unhappy about it.

33. I know there's a surcharge on Wranglers in NC...
because it only has two doors and would be considered a sports car.

2. I've wanted one for a long time, too.
However, I do not drive like an asshole.

So, I propose the following: have your husband buy this old Jeep, and then you just give it to me. :)

4. i would do that, i tell him i gave it away to a good home.
he's out of the country 250 days a year and already has a car he hardly drives and now he wants an old jeep? So I told him i was going to take a class so i could get my motorcycle license, he made a face and i told him to shut it.

5. Heck yeah. I'll actually use the thing.
I can take it up logging roads and roll around town with the top down and doors off in the summer. I can have some fun in the snow during winter.

AND, I can avoid putting miles on my new car.

I see a whole lot of win here.

You should buy him something sensible.

Now go away and let me have my mid-life crisis old Jeep.

to give to the boy to drive.

A Chrysler 300. We'd have to put the governor back on it.

Not seeing sensible.

were they like that before or did the Volvo dealership but a pod in the cavernous trunk.

Could be worse. He might want to autocross a stock Miata.

19. I had a CJ 5 in 1972....never a "wild" driver but the thing drove like a box...
driving in high cross winds was always scary. Loved it for a lot of reasons but when I had my first baby...it had to go. He should be very careful.

There is just no justifiable reason for driving like that.

I've been at too many fatal vehicle vs. peds to have any other opinion.
