9. There are many DOs in southern Maine (even a college for them)
When I was growing up the DOs all accepted Medicaid and thus were the docs of choice in my 'hood. We went to an MD when I was little and only osteopaths later on.

I'd have to work very hard to find a DO around here in the SF bay area.

10. THis is a very suburban area, but there are alot here
I think because there are quite a few O schools in the NJ/NYC area and New England.

I read an article recently about how many traditional MD programs are using a good chunk of the DO approach now (ie whole body-mind approach).

Never made a choice, I just take the first available.

21. I watched my mother's mother
and her sisters get totally awful care at the hands of DO's and so I've never trusted them. I'll only see and MD.

Dr. Musick. Made house-calls. Had "Highlights" in his waiting room. Always gave lollipops. Really believed in penicillin! LOL!
