1. That's a mighty big mountain
Maybe I'm wrong, but it's my understanding Denali is higher from base to summit than Everest. Like a good mile higher(from it's base).

3. That's correct.
It goes from basically sea level to 20,320 feet.

We were so lucky today to have this visibility. We went to Fairbanks on Friday and came back to Anchorage today. A big snowstorm blew through this whole area yesterday, but today we were blessed with this sight just when we were closest to the mountain. It's truly awe-inspiring.

Great photo! I'm an armchair mountaineer and I like pictures like that.

I'd love to see that in person.

It's always a treat to see the summit because it makes its own weather up there -- it's only visible about 40 percent of the time -- so I like to share my good fortune. :)
