Twin Peaks
Loved, loved the movie Fire Walk with Me. It is definitely in my top 10 favorite movies. I just started the Tv series and have finished the first two discs thanks to Netflix. I am loving the TV series, but have started to read the reviews and I think I am going to be let down when I start watching Season 2. I know who killed Laura Palmer, but I love the aside stories. Should I tamper my enthusiasm for this quirky tv show?

1. Go throught Season 2 and stick with it until the end.
A lot of it sucked, but the last episode was TOTAL FUCKING GODHEAD, as the young people used to say.

2. Thanks!
I understand David Lynch had a big hand in the last episode, doing it his way.

3. I tried to get into that show. Just couldn't do it.
But my mom loves it. She is watching it for the first time right now.
Actually, she's in her room watching season 2 at the very moment.

What am I missing?

5. It is well worth the effort
Writing varies, but the acting is uniformly excellent and whenever Lynch is directly involved, greatness ensues.

Missed it in its ABC days, but seeing the pilot on A&E back around 2000 blew my mind. It was the first time in my life I had encountered a filmmaker who saw the world in the same weirdly detached way that I do.

David Lynch is one of the great filmmakers of this era.

That's all for now, Diane.

7. Twin Peaks is available online at CBS.com:

Personally, I wish it had ended when they knew who killed Laura Palmer. The theme music is hauntingly spooky.

8. It's really the second half of the second season
that people have a problem with, especially the first few episodes after Laura's killer is revealed. But stick with it. The last episode is mind-blowing, and you'll appreciate it more if you see what leads up to it.

9. Watch the whole thing
Then watch the whole thing again.

There's something to be said for ending it with the episode where the killer is revealed, but there's something to be said for seeing it out to the end.

PS My dog is named Maddy. :D

10. Watch the whole thing. There is a little lameness in there, but overall, it's worth it.
Like swag said, the final episode is AWESOME.
