Saving the daffodils--I've been putting up little tents over the daffodils that have

come up in the last few days. There's five clumps of them around the house, and I improvised the tents out of kitchen garbage bags, dowels, and ground staples. We have 2" - 5" of snow coming, and I'd hate to see the flowers die. I did something similar years ago for my mother's tulips when a one day snowstorm blew through in mid-April. It works!

1. if it is only the first little shoots of green they should make it anyway. If there are

flower buds, you need to protect as you have done. If they are already blooming, just bring them in for a winter bouquet.

2. Most of them are blooming--but so were my mother's tulips, and they made

it through. I'm hoping my daffodils will too!
