Nora York on WNYC streaming music now, live (the show New Sounds)
Just started. This is pretty cool music!

From the show blurb:
Vocal artist Nora York launched her career on the Lower East Side performance art circuit, carving out her own path with daringly unconventional workings of popular jazz standards. She shifts the gender of the lyrics, or alters the emphasis of the song, or brings in unexpected sounds on tape, like those of a whirring helicopter. On this edition of New Sounds, listen to songs from York's album "Double Take", as well as a live recording of "Alabama Song," from Symphony Space's recent Wall To Wall Kurt Weill program. Continuing with the theme of updating famous standards, hear a performance in the WNYC studio by Suzzy and Maggie Roche; and the band Last Forever, from a New Sounds Live performance at Merkin Hall.

I think guys like RKZ and Khephra and King Crimson fans and etc. would dig her music.
