...and the hits just keep on coming
Well, lost my job yesterday. Went from being the star for the last 3 years to "not being a good fit."

2. Hmm...
that sounds like something worth backing up with documentation. Did they fire you or did you quit? If they fired you, after saying you were a "star performer" the last three years, then you should go after unemployment. Submit all the paperwork, should that employer fight the unemployment claims.

I wish you well and hopefully you'll find something better soon.

3. I am so sorry....
please do as the other poster suggested....file for unemployment and then
if you get a job in the meantime you won't need the unemployment...

Make sure you understand what they are going to say, ahead of time, to any
future employment prospects, you might pursue, as their excuse for letting you go.

Good luck...
Tikki

6. Already working on it
I have filed for unemployment, its only 351 a week, but it is also 351 a week more. Job market is slim here but I am working on it.

5. I'm very sorry.
:(

It's amazing how they can rationalize that. You can be damned near perfect in every possible way, over and over and over again. But when they need to get rid of you, suddenly it's your fault somehow. You weren't a good fit, or you caused some imaginary conflict, or you are responsible for a department's problems even though you aren't the manager of that department. They can always find something to lay on top of you as they toss you out the door. x(

All the years I worked as a consultant I can't count how often I saw good people go while bad management stayed.

I'm so sorry you had to take this hit. I hope you can roll with this and find a replacement position. As bad as this economy is, I hope you don't end up under it.
