To Spokane, WA DUers
I just finished watching A&E's documentary on Kevin Cole, the South Hill rapist. It was a horrible story, but I never knew how beautiful Spokane is.

Can anyone tell me more about Spokane?

4. Weird Huh?
When it first came on, I thought they were going to do the Ted Bundy story, but this was another guy entirely. He raped two dozen women. Same M.O. as Bundy. He was from a wealthy family, and he stalked his victims at night. One woman that he raped became a TV news anchor in Spokane, WA.

Here's the kicker. He was convicted and sentenced to 75 yrs to life, but most of his convictions were overturned because the police hypnotized his victims in order to get a description of him. So, he was only convicted of one of the rapes because that particular victim was not hypnotized. His sentence was reduced to 25 yrs. This all happened in the early 80s, and he gets out in 2006!

2. Spokane is a wonderful city.
I don't live in the area anymore, but if you are a forest and lake loving person it's a good place to base yourself while you discover the beautiful lake country of Idaho just next door and the scenic rural areas north of Spokane. Spokane as a city rocks as well. The climate is milder than most of the Inland Northwest and it has all the amenities. I really miss not living there anymore.

3. Ah, Washington!
Washington State is completely beautiful everywhere. What's amazing about this state is that we have rain forests AND deserts, all within our medium-sized place. Beautiful seacoasts, lakes and the inland empire - it's gorgeous here. Come visit sometime! :hi:

5. My personal hero of heroes lives there and I wondered too.
John Stockton of Spokane played NBA basketball in Salt Lake City for 19 years, all the while still keeping the house he bought back home next door to his parents'. Right after he retired his Hall of Fame career last summer he packed up his wife and 6 kids and moved back to Spokane for good. He always raved about Spokane when he spoke about it sothat's very interesting to know.
