What is google.analytics.com and why did it crash me when I attempted to reply on DU?

An attempt to reply ended up crashing my computer and the bottom read "loading google.analytics.com". WTF?

1. google analytics is a web traffic reporting system

It's used by the admins to collect page hits and general site traffic for DU.

If you run ad blocking software, you can block it from running in your browser.

If you have Firefox and the NoScript plugin installed.

As noname explained, Google Analytics is a copy-past script that analyzes site traffic.
