1. Too cute! I love interspecies friendships.
I'll bet the kitty is hoping his kitty friends don't see this on the Internets, though!

:)

4. Rats are very social, very friendly, wonderful animals.
This Thomcat loves rats. :loveya:

I have friends who have rats and I love to play with them. They crawl around inside my sleeves and shirt, climb on my shoulder, chitter at me, love to be petted and fed and talked to.

They recognize my voice on the telephone and chitter to say hello. :)

They're wonderful, underrated pets. If only they had longer lifespans I think more people would have rats as pets.

5. When the boys were growing up we had 'ratsos'
and a pretty cool SAM (small animal modules) cage system, which connected by tubes. We had a big dog, Pepper, a mixed breed of black lab and Australian Shepard, and 5 or 6 cats. The ratso's were always breaking out of the SAM cages and hanging out with the other pets. In fact they would go up the basement stairs out to Pepper's food dish and carry chunks of kibble to the back of the couch. We only had one that was mean, a male who bit. All the other ones were female and very nice girls.

6. Rats are such sweet animals.
I had a roommate with a pet rat. I walked into the spare room where the rat's cage was and had a heart attack -- my Maine Coon cat was lying next to the cage. I thought:

OMG MY CAT IS GOING TO EAT MY ROOMMATE'S RAT!

Then I realized said cat was lying next to the cage, letting my roommate's rat pull out his fluffy undercoat hairs. She was taking them to her sleeping area and lining her nest with his fur. :loveya:
