First, here is Angel, our new outdoor pet. I say "pet" to distinguish him from our other outdoor kids, who are feral.

I think Angel is declawed. He was obviously someone's pet, and when he came to us he was a holy mess. Now he is huge, beautiful, friendly. He wants to come into the house but is afraid of the other cats. As I said in another thread, thank god for small favors.

:loveya: Are you an "official" cat rescue now (ie. Waldorf Cat Haven)? Sorry if you announced it and I missed the thread. Some months ago there was a thread in GD about getting tax breaks for pets. I've always thought if anyone deserves a tax break for taking care of animals it's you.

3. No, not official. It's just what I call our home.

I wish I got a tax break. If you'll allow me to toot my own horn, every penny spent for the ferals' and strays' care comes out of our pockets.

Unfortunately, I don't have the energy it would take to become a real rescue program and get 501(c)(3) status.

7. Harry has the same sweet expressions

as my old man, Widget. Widget will be 16 on St Patrick's Day. We know for sure because he was born in a trash can in my sister's side yard and she found him.

There will be a party for him. He's earned it. He's my very best friend.
