Just found out about the first laid off worker in my congregation.

I figured it would come sooner or later. He's in the news department at a company that runs three local radio stations. They're still giving him a few hours, but less than a full day's worth per week. They're trying to keep from fully laying anyone off, but advertising dollars are way down. With the Caterpillar layoffs less than an hour's drive away, we're going to start getting bit here, now.

I'm really worrying about the economy, and all those who are getting hurt by it.

2. I know. I'm surprised it's taken this long.

And, like everyone else I know working for a non-profit, I wouldn't be surprised if it hits me in time. I've become much better about making deposits in my savings account.
