Gotta love the Emergency Room!
Picture it!

ronnykmarshall walking into the kitchen and tries to step over the "doggy gate" with a glass in his hand.

Just call me "Grace".

Several stitches later ....... here I am.

4. Really? What was your experience in the ER?
I guess if you were bleeding profusely you didn’t have to wait 6 hours. Where are your cuts? Glad you are OK.

12. Did they give you any drugs?
Sorry to hear about it, but glad it wasn't more serious.

I was washing dishes once and a glass slipped and broke. As I was trying to grab it, I sliced my wrist open. When I was in ER, the hardest part was convincing them it wasn't a suicide attempt.

19. I have go get some more today.
I have the coolest boss. I'm working from home and was on a conference call and people were asking me questions and he chimmed in "let's cut Ronny some slack ... he's on pain pills". After he called me and told me to just chill and not worry about anymore meetings today.

16. I've got a straight scar across my neck from surgery
I tell people a mugger tried to slit my throat but I managed to disarm him, beat him up and hold him until the cops arrived, all while bleeding profusely. :)

17. Back home they knew me by name at the ER
I once sliced the tip of my finger nearly off while boning a roast (because to bone a roast, you hold it firmly with one hand and cut straight toward that hand with the knife :eyes: ) - when I arrived at the ER, the doctor simply said in an exasperated way, "skygazer, what have you done NOW?"

Glad you're okay - hurts, doesn't it?

23. Ouch!
Glad you're OK now.

I had a similar experience this summer - broke my ankle and wrist, had to have surgery for the ankle but they just set the wrist initially. When I went back to the doc for a follow-up visit about a week and a half later, the X-rays showed that my wrist wasn't healing properly, so I had to have another surgery for that. It was supposed to be outpatient, but I ended up staying overnight, and one of my nurses from the ankle-related hospital stay happened to walk by my room and see me there. She came in and asked pretty much the same thing - "What are you doing back here??" I told her I had just missed her and the other nurses so much that I just had to come back, and when she didn't believe me (I wonder why?), I told her what the real deal was. :)

20. {{ronnykmarshall}} and {{Kitchenwitch}}! My ER rocks! Been there in the last two years
for falling hard on both shins (X-rayed, nothing broken!); and getting a foot and then lower-leg infection from first scraping my foot raw and then ignoring it (anti-biotics, tetanus shot).

21. Yikes!
 If it makes you feel any better, this summer I managed to break my ankle in two places by stepping the wrong way on a loose brick...and the very next day, broke and dislocated my wrist while attempting to hobble around on one crutch. x( I'm pretty much back to normal now, although I'll probably never again be able to pass through airport security unhindered (metal plates, screws, and pins in both my wrist and my ankle!). :hi: Hope you heal up nicely, and soon!
