2. You forgot other

They sell small septic-type tanks you can bury in your yard and it digests the pooh. A bit like a chemial toilet.

3. My neighbor across the street

sticks little yellow flags in the grass at the annointed spot and the dog's owners come and clean up for him. After all, the dog is their responsibility.
This dog also does his business in my yard. I don't mind so much and just pick it up since he guards my house as well as his owners.

darned good, in fact, SO good about looking after the critters, I raised her allowance to a buck a day.

The local Christmas tree farm would come once a week and take it all away. We're talking 40 dogs here. :)
