I need some help. Starting Thursday, I won't be leaving my house.
For anything short of an emergency. Probably until Monday or Tuesday (Super Bowl is happening around a mile away, you get the picture). What do I need to remember to stock up on for my self-imposed 6 day isolation?

13. Everybody thought D.C. was gonna be gridlock for the inauguration.
It turned out to be nothing. What are they saying about the Superbowl? I guess all those people will be in town for over several days. Just do anything you have to do in the opposite direction. :-)

14. I find in these situations...
it's the things that I can't live without and couldn't foresee which I end up needing.

Cooking oil
Margarine
Batteries
Light bulbs
Replacement water filter (Because you haven't been tortured until you've been forced to drink Yonkers muni. water.)
Dog food
People food
Propane/Heating Oil (because getting a delivery under those conditions is a pain in the ass)
and you're going to think I'm crazy for this...gas the car up. Because if there is something you do end up needing immediately, it's that much worse if you realize you've got to stop for gas.

26. Been there, done that, didn't bother to get the teeshirt.
I lived about 5 mi away from last years Super Bowl.
It really wasn't too bad around here then but I understand about not wanting to fight the crowds.
We made sure we had lots of food in the house and relaxed with books and movies.

I would be a mess without my allergy meds for that long. Take a look at your toiletries too. Do you have enough toothpaste, soap, shampoo, etc?

32. Yeesh, you're that close to RayJay?
Plenty of food. A reasonable amount of booze. Books. LOTS of toilet paper. (Like, go buy a brand-new 12-pack of 2-ply soft rolls in the largest size you can find.) A filtered water pitcher or two, maybe with a 24-pack of bottles thrown in for good measure.

Make sure your land phone line's in working order (if not, get one), because cell-phone service is probably gonna be SLOOOOOW from all the signals going through. If LeftyMom has a webcam, get one for yourself. If you've got a wireless router, make sure it's secure, so people can't leech off of it.

If you realize on Friday morning that you forgot something and it's cheap (i.e. under $20), I gotta be down in that general area on Friday afternoon. PM me before 12 with your address and I'll swing it by.

I'm not kidding, last time there was a serious snowstorm for Wilmington the only bread left was flavored croutons.
