I can't begin to thank the DU enough
for the amount of knowledge and understanding of public forums that I have gained here. Both communication knowledge and general knowledge. Thanks DU !

2. It drives Mr. Debi crazy
I know what's going on before the talking heads on the TV do!

6. My family never believes anything I tell them...and then whatever
I had told them pops up on the news a few days (weeks) later.

I won 100 dollars from my father-in-law on the Presidential election. I told him that Obama was going to win, and he said Obama didn't have a chance. The election turned out almost exactly as I said it would -- my father in law couldn't believe it.

I get most of my info from DU and other political websites -- I never watch the news and I know WAY more about what is going on than most people that I know.

4. One of the things that I learned LOL
:hi: is that I can't post anything without being chastised, corrected or demeaned. That is probably the best training for posting.

:fistbump:

5. The Lounge is a great place to watch people throw food at each other
Edited on Tue Jan-27-09 04:27 PM by CreekDog
In the General Discussion areas they throw rocks however. :hide:

In LBN and certain threads in GD/GDP as you probably saw a number of people know a lot about certain topics and really help shed some light on what's being reported.

DU has made getting news and information much more efficient for me.

I believe the Lounge is like the Kid's table at dinner, ultimately serving the same purpose.
