Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

I had a busy long weekend. My mom and her bf came to my place and we continued our home improvement project. A lot of small stuff that isn't really to be seen but was necessary, like switching the faucets on my kitchen sink (drama!!!) and toilet sink. Then putting silicone in the window frames. We also bought a beautiful lamp for my living room. And they brought the chairs with them we bought in December. The condo looks messy again but there is progress. I only need to empty two more boxes, the stuff that goes with the desk and computer. Then I am done unpacking. I still have to sort my books though :hide:

That is good news!! I am happy for you!!!

I get my paycheck end of the week (we get paid only once a month). Need the money too. This month was expensive for me with two payments (rent for the old apartment, payment for the new condo).

7. It really is
I am really thankful for the help of my mom.

It is always good to get paid for the job one does. I remember 7 years ago in my old job, I didn't get paid for the last 3 months because the company went bankrupt. Fortunately in such situations the State pays you up to 3 months of your paycheck if such thing happens.

I missed you yesterday!

So glad to hear you are making more progress on the condo. I hope to see more pictures soon!

I was incredibly productive this weekend :woohoo: and met with the lawyer yesterday.

I am thinking the divorce should be done be May. Of course, the STBE tried to worm back in on Sunday. He came to see the little one, and he looks horrible! He has gained so much weight, he smelled bad, and then tried to be apologetic

Oh, and my friend ;) texted me while the STBE was standing in my kitchen :D. I will see him in 6 weeks :bounce:

Have a great day!!!!

I will take some more pictures soon, I promise. The bedroom, bathroom and WC are looking like real rooms already. The livingroom and working room not so much.

space, I suspect it will be easier to keep clean. You actually have room for all of your stuff, so that definately helps. Additionally, I'm sure you got rid of a lot of unnecessary stuff, a bonus too.

I'm trying to keep my living area clutter free, so am continually taking things out to the garage. Needless today, I've got my summer project planned already - organizing the garage. :) Actually, that shouldn't be too difficult. I plan on putting shelving up so my stuff will be more organized.

Alrightee . . . gotta go warm up the car (it's -4F here) and head out to work.

Wishing you a great day.

edit to correct temp. Grrrrr . . . it's -7F

I forgot I have court today for speeding until yesterday afternoon. Glad I remembered it when I did. My speedometer doesn't work, so I know I can get it lowered to bad equipment or whatever. I just forgot to get to a mechanic for a paper saying speedometer is hosed.

Things are crazy over here these days. I'm liking that things are getting done, but not liking the stress and how busy we are. I would rather hire someone to do the stuff I'm doing, but that would be a bucket load more of money that we don't have.

I hope it's worth it. :D

Well, the class is right up my alley - "Science Fiction Film of the 20th Century" and the first class and the reading up to the first class was all stuff that is really first year film studies. I had to keep telling myself that most of the people in the class are not former film students and don't already know this stuff. But the syllabus looks hard - with a lot of reading. So I'm a little nervous, but not too much.

Did you have a good visit with your mom and her bf, or was it just working?

but it will be beige, a 3 seater with sleep function and then also an ottoman on the left side of it. I will take a pic once I got it.

Let's see, Friday my mom and her bf had fish and I had shrimp, Saturday we had a Moussaka and Sunday we had Chicken Korma with rice :)

Is the class only once a week?

That sounds like excellent meals to me. (Of course, my idea of cooking is usually heating up hot dogs. But I'm really good at baking. I actually enjoy that.)

The class is actually mostly every other week, which really surprised me, so there is a lot to do between classes. (Which is fine.) It's 4 hours on Saturday, just about every other Saturday. I'm not so sure it's a good idea, but I know the university is experimenting with different ways to hold classes, so I'll hold my judgment until we are farther into the semester.

of course when I cook for myself it is mostly pasta. But when I get the chance I like to try new dishes. Same goes with baking. I enjoy it but there is no sense in baking a cake for myself.

I don't like cooking enough to go all out for just me, and I don't have people over enough to do a lot of cooking otherwise. I've been working on that.

49. Good morning, MissHoneyChurch and fellow Loungers.
I am home because of a snow day. This would be a good thing, except.... I drove to school over treacherous roads to find out that it was canceled. Then I had to drive home over the same treacherous roads. And it isn't even snowing anymore!

We did have a 2-hr. delay, but apparently they canceled while I (and others) were on the road. I am so annoyed. Now we have to make this day up in June... and dammit, I went to school! We have already lost Easter break.

So I'm in a rotten mood and bored. Hope everyone else is having a better day.
