Has anyone here ever lived in Ottawa?
There's a really good chance of me going to Carleton University next year. I already got accepted, and it sounds pretty awesome. If I go, I'll be doing Public Affairs and Policy Management, human rights concentration.

So, tell me about Ottawa. Or Carleton, if you know anything about it. :)

1. Yes, home of the @Last paternal grands. I loved it; charming town,
really nice people, very serene...

I recommend it~but Carleton? I thought it was Ottawa University that was founded there (KS; pardon my levity!)

6. Given that she is Canadian, I will guess it's their nation's capital.

8. They should've named their capital something more original.

13. Just want to chime in and say I spent a day there once
So charming. It has always been #1 on my escape from the US list. And the day I visited it was a balmy 40 below.

14. I WANT a replica of the Parliamentary library.
You could totally get lost in the woodwork -- never mind the books. When I win the lottery, it will be MINE.

Tremendously nice and generous people, the National Art Gallery, the Rideau Canal, Hull (cross the border into Quebec and party HARD), a spectacular all-year farmers' market, tons of cultural events....

It would be a cool experience. Four years in Ottawa? I think you'd have a good time.
