Is that allowed, or will I look like an idiot.

OK, like a bigger idiot than I usually look.

Both prosecution and defense counsel would be striking you from the pool on just the visual alone, figuring you didn't have the God-given sense to dress yourself properly.

11. black shoes would look better, but hey...
if people are staring and fretting about your shoes not matching your suit, then they are the ones with a problem, not you.

My kids tell me that color coordination is not a big deal anymore, it's passe....

21. No. That would be a fashion faux pas.
Instead, wear your red Converse High Top All Stars. They will set of the charcoal suit perfectly.

24. Yes, you can. Brown with gray is OK, just not often done in the U.S.
Go for it. You will not look like an idiot. Do be sure that your belt is the same brown as your shoes and your tie is not blue or black. I would be wary of wearing brown shoes with a black suit, but with gray or blue, they are just fine.

26. Just curious: what CAN you wear brown dress shoes with?
As in colors of suits?

I would've thought that darker brown and gray look fine together, but I freely admit I'm no fashionista, and my ignorance in this area is being shown up by the anti-brown-and-gray crowd here. :D

27. I usually wear the brown shoes with a dark green suit, and it looks good
I've never worn the brown shoes with the charcoal suit, however. I have to bring both on a trip, and I just don't want to pack an extra pair of shoes.

30. No, but having something bright to balance the scheme works better
e.g. a teal shirt. Kohl's has one for $36. Long sleeve. Sateen. Bloody awesome color, that one!
